Here and also patiently waiting for spring as well. We got two BW trips planned for the 2017 paddling season. Also planning some river trips in Wisconsin closer to home. In the meantime, I'll try to get to writing up a report for our 2016 spring trip as well as making a battery pack for the depth finder (DIY FTW! Thanks again for the designs MP). I'll be sure to post the results of both on the forums. -Matt

2016 brought a lot of changes for us. I got a new job as an accounting instructor, so we moved from Grand Forks, ND, to Duluth, MN. Since I don't teach in the summer, we'll get to go to the BWCA a lot! I'm already planning on bringing my two boys as often as possible. I'm also excited to try out guiding for an outfitter - we'll see how it goes.

I'm here and in between looking at my photos from last August's Algonquin trip, I click in on Paddle Planner to see if new photos/trip reports have been posted.
Only recently I started taking advantage of the slide viewer that opens up when I click on photos in the maps. Good work Ben!

I am a big fan of the Lutsen area, so I use Sawbill entry. I will usually go up and divide my time (2 weeks) between a BWCA trip (6-8 days) and a stay at the Lutsen Resort. I've entered both the Kawishiwi Lake and Sawbill. I am a tripper, not a base camper, and I cover several lakes and new camps daily. Have a great day!

I haven't entered at either of those places. My EP of choice on the east side is Sea Gull Lake ((54). I nice loop is to head west through Alpine into Ogishkemuncie. From there you have multiple choices - south, further west, or west and then north. Or you can go north out of Sea Gull and loop around to the west, whence you'll have a similarly dizzying array of options. And the only wind tunnel to speak of is the Ottertrack-Knife segment. Please post a trip report when you return.

Nice, secluded lake, if you don't mind a 480 rod portage I've done the Kawishiwi entry twice, and I love it. Really nice entry. My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at Lutsen Resort.
