Large sandy beach landing that conveniently morphs into a more gravel like area near the fire grate and beyond. There is good log seating and a large sawn off stump that can serve as a great table or stool. A lush, cooling grove of cedar trees provide multiple areas for tents & hammocks. There is even a unique cedar right near shore that provides a great perch from which to rest & catch the lake breeze on for those nimble enough. Firewood was tough to come by in camp but, there's an abundance of old beaver wood around the lake that can easily be gathered when out & about.

Great area. Can get windy and the firepit is exposed.

Quite possibly the best campsite I have ever seen in the BWCA! The sand beach is truly amazing; soft sand and minimal weeds. The fire grate is right on the beach, so you get to cook or relax by the fire with a fantastic view. We caught plenty of large sunfish right off the beach too! Big cedars dominate the forest in that area, which make for a nice cool place to escape the heat. We fit a 10x10ft tent easily in one tent pad; there was room for at least one other similar sized tent. The geography of this location keeps the site sheltered from the morning sun until late morning. Our tent was tucked in the cedars and only was exposed to the sun for a few hours during midday. Very few other campsites on this portion of the lake; we saw no one else for 4 days in late June. Firewood was a little scarce, but there are plenty of beaver houses on this lake to raid for peeled and dried wood of reasonable length. 10/10 would visit again!

Wonderful site! Can set up on the beach. Bald eagle nesting in area is not scared, careful cleaning your fish.

Very nice site at this time of year. Not heavily used so far this season, so it was very clean with firewood easily found. Nice sandy beach, level tent pads, good shade. No shore fishing or I would rate a five.

Very nice sand beach. Very little wind gets to this site. Hot and buggy.

The site has a huge sandy beach landing. I've never seen anything like it in the BW. Some good pads. There are quite a few signs of folks not keeping the wilderness sacred. Huge nails in the trees, garbage everywhere (did our best to clean up!), trees cut down, etc... If it were located somewhere without as much traffic it would get 5 stars.
