Great campsite. Stayed here for three nights. Water south of the island is protected and calm even when Kek is wavy. Great kitchen area and it was easy to spread a tarp over it. Lots of beaver activity and beaver sightings, and general a fun to explore island.

Black Bear Alert! We were at this awesome island camp site for a day. By the time early Afternoon hit, if you weren’t set up on a campsite, you were paddling for a while. We had just seen the 3rd group of the day pass this spot when all of the sudden a bear comes mosying on over. We happened to take a few shots on the camera but had to retreat to safer ground. He took the peanut butter and took off. Showed up another 3-4 times throughout our stay on this island spot. Didn’t get much sleep that night either. He/she may still be there...

Nice site with a couple drawbacks: no open rock along the shoreline, latrine is a little too close to the site.

A very nice site. Good canoe landing. Lots of red pines by lakeshore give a sense of seclusion. Very nice firegrate area, but could use some larger trees to provide some shade. Nice large grassy tent pads.

Pretty good island site. Looks like this camp site may have been moved after a fire on the island so don't get confused - keep working your way around the island till you spot it. Good level, grassy spot with very descent landing. Southern view and wind protected. Lots of grouse walked thru the camp when we were there unperturbed by our presence. We moved to this campsite late in the day after we were driven out of another site on kek by a bear we could not get rid of. Figured this as a better choice as it was an island (tho bears easily swim to islands we figured our odds as better here to get a good nights sleep).
