I stayed here overnight in 2023. This island burned in the 2021 fire with the only green trees found west of the fire pit down to the shore. The tent spots before the fire must of been to the east of the fire pit, but the whole area is now one big dead fall blown down. You now have to get creative to find a flat tent spot. Not a problem for small solo tents, but more of a challenge for bigger tents / groups. I give it three stars since it is the only usable campsite within a 5 km radius.

Great campsite on Talon lake, great trout fishing on east side of the island especially. Campsite is sheltered well from the big NW wind we had. Nice firepit and I left a load of firewood there...I think the site to the east has burned over, this one did not and has a lot of large spruce and pine for shade and cover. Don't bother looking elsewhere on the lake, use this one.
