This is one of the state campsites (MN DNR grate) and it's not a nice one! The campsite is closed off and pretty hard to spot from shore. There's not a lot of space for tents or sitting around. Also there is no breeze so bugs become a problem. I moved to the next site north.

Small, compact site. It isn't used very much. The landing was OK. The tent pad area (a small clearing) was actually very good. Overall, though, it isn't a great site. Not much of a view and near the swampy part of the lake. My 5-year-old said, "This is not a nice site."

This is a small and sheltered site. We were forced to use it for one night when the northwest wind would not allow us to go any farther across Bald Eagle Lake. The tent pads were poor, the kitchen area was poor, and the mosquitoes were thick!
