Very close to civilization if that's where you want or need to be - first trip, medical necessity, small child. The site is not exciting but adequate. Flat, surrounded by mixed trees, decent but not great landing, view of sunrise. Island nearby has eagles nest. River otters have been seen nearby. South farm has a historic site located on the southern shore where a logging camp once existed. There is a hiking/ski trail that comes down to the water at the old logging field so you could paddle over and take a hike.
