Great site. Great kitchen. view is not as nice as other Iron sites due to narrow part of the lake. Great landing. No complaints as we spend 4 nights base camping here. It was good to be out of the wind as several days made fishing on the large parts of the lake difficult.

Very nice site here among the pines. We pulled off as lightning started flashing. Best to be off the water for the worst of it and this was the first place to stop. We ate a snack and sat on the nice rocks here.

Absolutely sprawling site with tons of tent pads and hammock trees. The fire pit is one of the best in the BWCA (Actually reminds me of some nice Quetico sites). It is shallow out front of the site, so not great for bobber fishing. The island is large and a lot of fun to explore. Great spots for star gazing. The site is large enough that we were able to play disc golf. Excellent small beach landing for multiple canoes. The site is used fairly often so finding firewood can be a bit of a struggle. The best site on Iron, easy!

Great site for hammocks with abundant shade and a nice bed of pine needles. One of the best kitchen areas Ive seen in the BWCA. Looks like someone spent a lot of time on it.

IMO this is one of the best sites on Iron lake. Like a park with red pines scattered around. Tons of tent pad space or hammock/tarp trees. Good fire pit and cooking area. If there such a thing as too much landing space? The landing is super. If this site were to get a hit it would get it because it faces south and some time a breeze is hard to come by. If there is a north breeze the park like open island allows the breeze to filter thru to the site. I've stayed here twice and will be back again. BTW, if you did not already know, Iron Lake is one of the best fishing lake in the BW.
