Nice site on an island, room for a good size group. The site is in the middle of the island with no real view of the lake and not very good landing sites. Stopped one year in June and got carried away by bugs so didn't stay but a couple of years later in mid-may we stayed and it was good because there were no bugs and we were protected from some nasty cold spring winds.

Open site up hill in the trees. The landing is OK, just like the rest of Alton (rocky parallel parking). Poor swimming area.

Nice campsite but landing is not the best. Lack of firewood on island may mean you'll have to find it on the mainland.
