This island campsite is pretty nice. It has a good landing on the north side and an OK landing on the south side. Both are made of large stones. There aren't any large boulders for stargazing, which is too bad since the two landings let you pick between north and south views. There are two picnic tables, one that is quite old and a newer one as well. There are no water views from the picnic table and fire ring, so this site would be a good one if you expect some wind. That said, there are quite a few leaning trees, so watch out for widow-makers. Surprisingly, we found a lot of beaver driftwood on the south side of the island. Firewood wasn't too hard to come by. In short, this campsite served us very well as a staging point before entering South Lake, but I do wish it had a view of the water from the kitchen.

Nice landings on either side. Pads are pretty flat. Nice grate area to hang out by. Islands can get buggy.
