Both of these sites are on the portage and part of the old lakebed. They sit on a gravel flat so there are plenty of tent options. The BIFF is nearly a quarter-mile hike along the trail across the bridge and up the hill, so that is a downside. The hiking trail goes right through both of these campsites and can be followed to the portage landing. Both campsites on the peninsula have steel rings with swinging grates. The two sites are very similar to each other, but this one has a little less shade and is a little "scruffier." I have stayed at them both and they are fine sites if you can overlook the fact they are on a portage.
