Decent sandy/gravel landing. Short, level walk to site. Small and enclosed by trees, so there is no view or wind. Nice fire area with good sitting logs. Good trees for tarps and bear hangs. Good shade. Decent firewood hunting, though the blowdown is mostly rotted by now. Good latrine and trail. Little smallmouths right off shore. The view of the lake is boring and the sunset is mostly blocked, though a short hike gets you on some high rocks right on the lake to the south of camp. Boats were often heard coming from the other side of the island but the sound was muffled and the wakes didn't hit the landing. The late June mosquitoes were insane at sunset. We could hear them buzzing as we went to sleep. We could see dozens of them that landed on the tent because the moonlight cast their silhouettes through the tent wall. This site works fine for 4 or less people. I would stay here again but would not be sad if it was taken. The site on the other island to the northwest is nicer.
