This is a very... different... site. It has a huge rock face that you can see from a distance. It is steep, but that is the only place I could find to land. I had to tie the canoe to a stick wedge in the rocks. The fire grate is on top of the rock face. The island was burned, so there is lots of new growth. There is a trail leading behind the fire grate, and it looked like it would be a large open area for tent pads. But, no. Instead it looks like a bomb went off. There are many downed, burned trees covering the entire area. There are no spots for tent pads. I find it surprising that the Forest Service is still maintaining it - there was one of the new style latrines amid the devastation.
