Nice site but open to west & south winds. Lots of room and plenty of good tent pads.

Stopped for a two-hour fish-fry lunch and very much enjoyed this one. Good site, treed but very open understory; park-like. Very close neighbor site to the north.

Large open northwest-facing site, good views, good takeouts on south and northwest sides, 3.5 stars

Beautiful view North, west and south. One tent pad was very flat. Lots of tree cover from the sun. Awesome waterfront - easy access to swim and watch the stars/northern lights. We rebuilt fire pit - very functional. Overall, great site!

Stayed here in 2001 & was looking forward to it again in 2008. I'd give it a high rating except for one thing: As of late July 2008, the entire island is now overrun with BITING RED ANTS! PS: I think there are 3 sites on this island at the SE, NW and SW corners. This is the SW one. I think the 1GL descriptions may be located at the SE corner, where 524 is marked. There is a firering on the NW corner. I'm not sure about the NE corner where the 1GL mark is.
