Low water on Lac la Croix, nowhere to land the canoe.

This is a huge campsite, with at least two fire rings many tent pads. We stayed here with another group, each of us had 9 people and 3 tents and we fit comfortably and had enough space for all of us without feeling like we were on top of each other. There are nice swimming areas on either side of the peninsula and good sheltered areas too. The peninsula itself is a little hilly (hence the name Hilly Island) but there is a flatter bit at the bottom of it where you could set up camp if you'd rather not lug things up. The landing is a little rocky, but I imagine that also depends on the water level. Overall, a very good campsite.

In 2002, had a BWCA style toilet. I don't remember how many tent sites but it is at least three.
