cool site, great elevation, nice landing, good firepit, plenty of pads or hammock trees

Not horrible, but far from excellent. Kitchen/Fire grate area was nice. Latrine was just far enough away. Would be good for swimming in the warmer months. Plenty of firewood in the burn area south of the site. Those are the only redeeming qualities in my opinion. The site is high (20-ish feet) above the water and up a steep hill. There's not really any place to store canoes unless you attempt to pull them up the hill. We just tied them to a tree and let them float. Nice trees but view of the lake is limited to the SW from on top of the site. Like others have said, there is maybe one level tent pad. Probably best for smaller groups 2-4 people/1-2 tents. There are much better, but also worse sites on the lake. Unfortunately, all the better ones were taken the day we arrived.

Excellent site overall with the exception of no really level tent pads. Most of the site is a gradual slope and gentle enough that tent pads aren't a huge problem. View was great. Fire grate area was excellent. Latrine was close and down an easy pass but back in the brush. There are two landings and multiple storage areas for canoes. The landing to the east is is actually the better of the two. Heavily used moose trail just to the east also.

Nice big campsite with a bit of a slope for tents. We had a total of 6 people in our group with 3 tents and 1. hammock. Boat landing was good plenty of room for 3 canoes and a walking path. Kitchen was set up just down the path from the campsite with easy access. The toilet was located a good distance away with an easy access too. Only reason 4 stars and not 5 is the view could have been better. Saw moose swimming right in front of campsite.
