Again, the other ratings are odd... This is a 2. maybe a 3 on the best of days. The rest of the lake has some banger sites. This isn't it. Landing is decent tho!

Our trip to this site began on Sawbill. 4 out of 9 of us had not been to BWCA. We were exhausted by time we arrived at this site. We'd visited 4 other occupied island sites and also noticed occupancy on a couple other nice sites. So, when 895 was not occupied, we were gonna make it work. There are two very nice tent pads and a couple others can be considered. Shade covers much of the site including the very nice flat kitchen rock area. The latrine is a distance away. Many dead trees had fallen on this site when we arrived and it appeared that we were perhaps the first to occupy in 2023. While no sunsets to be seen from here, sunrise arrives in the direction of Town lake for a spectacular view. Swimming is great at this site. And, not far out, you in 100' of water and then 150'.

Outstanding site. Many spots from which to catch a northerly or easterly breeze and absolutely splendid view of relief in the northeast corner of Cherokee. Incredible swimming as the lake bottom is composed of many flat rocks with combinations of shallow areas and good drop offs. The shallow areas are warmed by the rocks below and the deep drop offs allow total submersion and good opportunities to cool off on a hot day. the view of the lake from the fire pit is great. For early to mid summer, this is a great site. I had good wind from the south and the north, so the bugs never became a nuisance but if there were little breeze or if it were coming from the west or southwest, bugs could be an issue. That said, there are many great spots for shade on this site. In all, it's a great site to stay at for a layover or if your setting up camp early in the day in early or mid summer.

Has a couple of great spots to star watch and has a great view of the sunrise. However the landing is awful and there are no nearby trees to hang your food.

Nice SE facing site. Toilet off a trail to the right. rock wall down a trail to the west. No decent trees for hanging the food pack. Nice sloped rock beach warmed by the sun all day, makes a sweet spot for star gazing at night. Meteor shower when we were there.
