This portage is split in half (continuing on the south side) or you usually just paddle out from the split. It is wide and graveled on the Low end. We spent the night at one of the two campsites on the portage. Really nice sites actually. The only downside is the established Biff is nearly a quarter of a mile away from the site up the hiking trail. As this peninsula used to be part of the lakebed, the gravel is quite flat and makes for nice tent pads.
