I used this portage twice in 2023. The first time was at the end of May and I found it choked with fallen over burnt deadfall and a very wet boggy section at the south end. At that time, I made it passable with a handsaw. When paddling through here in late August, it was in much better shape. The Park had been through with a chainsaw and cleaned it up. Now in great shape. I did not have to cut a single tree in August. But there are still many standing dead trees from the 2016 fire, so expect this to change in the near future. The south entrance starts in a floating bog which was dry when I last went through. The north entrance on Paull now has a large rock cairn marking the way. Hard to miss now.

The start of the so-called "3-teeth" portage from Paull Lake towards Upper Kilburn. It certainly has bite! This is the worst of the 3 portages by far. Deadfall and burn with bog thrown in for fun. Passable but not a great time. See photos.

First 75 meters coming from the south a disaster after fires swept through this area. Downed trees make going difficult. More burn areas about half way through. Passable, but a lot of work.
