There is a set of rapids at the mouth of this bay West of Portage #657. They are easily managed if you walk your canoe up them. The portage itself is short but steep. Its a pretty well worn path now to the West of these dramatic rapids & waterfall. Theres a nice place to put your canoe on the upriver side so you don't get sucked into the falls area too.

Pretty difficult portage actually. Short, but quite the incline.

This portage was not accessible during my trip. We ended up bush-wacking through the woods to the left of the water fall/rapids. Horrible. There are also rapids leading up the the falls that don't have a portage. My canoe got stuck twice and I had to get out to free it.
