Water was very low on our visit which made everything a little tricky through the Royal. My group made it through this one just fine.

Water level was extremely high so the portage was hard to find. Looking at previous pictures, the fallen tree is still there and if you can SAFELY get past it with the rapids right now, it should be easy to find. I tried to find it, but was sucked into the rapids and lost my canoe and gear. Be careful here this year - at least until the water goes down.

Pretty easy portage. Flat, not too muddy, and gets you around some troublesome rapids. The entrance into the bay on John Lake is mainly blocked by a downed tree. Just be careful through that. The portage is pretty easy to spot on the right (East side) with a decent landing. 1/5.
