Coming from Fourtown, we couldn't find the trail for the longer version that skips the rapids entirely, and we ended up having to do three little portages instead of this one longer one. On the last little portage we found the T junction that apparently leads west to the longer single portage, but didn't follow it to see where it lets out to the west. Mind, we were on the last day of a nine-day, 140-mile trip from Poplar on the Gunflint to Mudro on the Echo Trail by way of Quetico, so we'd found plenty of disused portages in very remote places. Not sure why we couldn't find the long trail here.

Went east to west. The path split two-thirds of the way, we took the right (northern) path. The northern path skips the rapids between the unnamed lakes. The southern path is slightly shorter, but means there's some rapids to deal with.

Pretty little walk, creek on south side. Nothing to complain about. 3 out of 10
