About as good as it gets for a PMA portage. Brushy but easy to follow. Landing on the Trader end is a bit of a cliff.

Overgrown and tight in many spots. Definitely possible to get a canoe through but you'll have to work for it.

My Voyageur map doesn't even show this portage. But, it is right where this map shows it to be. Coming from the Vera lake portage into Trader it is quite easy to locate. The landing is a bit steep, but open. The trail is quite over grown but, easily followed. No real hills to negotiate but, there are a number of steep rock inclines that don't have much in the way of good footholds & can be quite slippery if wet. Also, the trail has several twists & turns. Making it challenging to squeeze a canoe through in a few spots. A few pink lady slippers were in bloom on the Trader lake end when we were there.
