This is harder than it looks. Only done it from Cone --> Brent direction, but it goes straight up. Cannot imagine it would be more pleasant the other direction as you would be going straight down.

From the Cone end, starts with a pretty steep climb uphill. Then, there are some very muddy/boggy sections as you approach Brent. Huge pines on that portage. As you get to Brent, the portage ends in a smelly, buggy, mudhole. This one is not a favorite of mine.

This portage was refered to as "The Death March" by a noted fishing guide that took me through here this week! It lived up to its name! heading north, It has a very steep UP right as you get going!
