I took this portage twice in 2015. It is passable, but you have to put in at the beaver dam and paddle around the east side. The pond is full of hummocks and fallen trees, but passable.

Attempted this portage from Crooked to Argo with a group of 4. There is a very large beaver colony that had flooded out the portage a couple of hundred meters from crooked. We attempted to find a way on foot but it was too thick. The other option may be to load the boats and paddle to the back of the beaver pond but I do not know how deep the mud is on the back side. Unless you are looking for a serious bushwhack, it may be best to choose another portage.
