As mentioned, there are several options depending on water levels. Be advised to stay together when choosing a path. I opted to "float" 1 canoe up further while the rest of the group took the earlier portage. They have differing exit points into North Bay. The primary portage comes out to the big island. Luckily, I knew this and was able to reunite with the group there.

There is actually 3 different portages here. The one marked is for low water conditions and is well traveled. 2 others exist farther north up the creek. One comes out west of the small peninsula the other east. Depending on the time of year, I would suggest using which ever is more heavily traveled. None are very difficult. All of them should put you south of the island when heading north.
