Every map I've seen correctly indicates there are 2 short, quick portages here. However, In my estimation (perhaps apart from extreme flooding) it is more efficient to just combine this portage with the next and do it all at once. There is a worn path that should allow you to do so. So, picking up where the portage from Vern left off; there is a reasonably flat though occasionally muddy flat section that you can walk around before reaching another climb. It's not severe but, you will definitely know you're going up hill. There should be a good opportunity for blueberries (in season) here. The trail mostly levels out again before descending steeply down a steep stone staircase to a tight boulder filled landing on Juno Lake. There is a nice overlook of Juno Lake just past the top of the stone staircase.

We did not paddle between these two portage and were able to bypass the pond on the north side. From there, it's up and over a nice scenic ridge to Juno.
