More poor footing and difficult landings. We came from Vesper to Town amid the snow and wind. The challenge, to us, is worth the beauty and we cleared the chain from Brule to Town in about an hour. If you aren't prepared for it though, these four portages will really get you.

You've now committed to 4 consecutive, rather difficult portages, or your back to your 1st campsite in 4 portages. This portage is a tough one, a mixture of cracked boulder gardens, hardened lava flows, tiny streams, granite boulders. This is a less steep way to cross the Laurentian Divide, but the # of times repacking is more. This chain of lakes are very secluded, small & beautiful.
