when we pulled up to this landing, it was snowing heavily. There was a large flock of ducks on the lake. A good piece of this portage was single plank boardwalk which was rather hazardous in the new slush. Very beautiful.

Extreme caution should be used on the Bower Trout end of this portage, because if you don't use the boardwalk when landing you could end up in waist deep muck! Once on the trail, you'll encounter a bit of everything - more boardwalk, boulders, muddy sections and a little elevation change across a slightly overgrown trail. Marshall end is a typical rocky landing.
