No presenters listed yet, supposed to be up in the next few weeks. Looking forward to this year's presentations and to lightening my wallet on neat stuff.

Ben, will we see you since you're much closer these days? VoyageurNorth, missed you last year, but will you be in Madison again this year? Anyone else attending?

I don't have a booth and am not presenting, but I am considering going down to just have some fun... and lightening the wallet like you said

Wally 13 and I are presenting, "Planning a Fishing-based Wilderness Canoe Trip" on Saturday at 4:30 pm in the Bear Room (upstairs). Presenters have been told that the presentations will be posted at www.canoecopia.com in early February. That's a little later than normal, but hang in there. There will be some good ones, so go ahead and make plans to attend.

We, along with many paddling friends, will be staying at the Country Inn & Suites in Menona. It's close to Copia and offers free Breakfast bar, free wifi, free parking for The discount of $115 per night, up to 4 per room. It's a good deal. Please call them at: (608) 221-0055 and mention "Canoecopia" to get the discount. We will have a pizza gathering on Friday night and BBQ on Saturday. One of the real highlights of Copia is visiting and swapping stories with fellow paddlers. With 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners, there are many such opportunities. Folks have been known to reveal secret fishing holes, though you didn't read that here...

'Planning a Fishing-based Wilderness Canoe Trip'

Rich Williamson, aka ‘Old Salt’, and Mike Porter, aka ‘Wally 13’ are both seasoned Quetico veterans. They are well-known and highly respected bloggers on such sites as QuietJourney.com, Bwca.com, and Paddleplanner.com.
They will conversationally discuss the planning process and decisions that need to be made well in advance of the trip departure that can enhance or undermine the success of a trip before it begins. By definition, a fishing-based trip is a trip focused on maximizing available fishing opportunities.
Are all participants on board with fishing as the primary goal? Several questions need clear answers well ahead of departure. Who is going? When are we going? Where are we going? Which lake(s) will we fish on? Rich and Mike make suggestions for good methods for gathering pre-trip intelligence. Suggestions will be shared for using recent technology to enhance your fishing success. Tactics, strategies, and weather all are factors that we will discuss. Come to hear some practical advice and tips to maximize your fishing time in your favorite wilderness areas.

Who is planning to attend Copia? Voyageur North is listed as an exhibitor, as the exhibitors list has been published.

Who is planning to attend our presentation on Saturday?

Presenters are up at http://www.canoecopia.com/canoecopia/speakers_schedule2.asp?d=11!

Planning to see Cliff, refresh on emergency procedures, and listen to John Bates about northern Wisconsin. Rich, you and Mike are at the same time as Aluminum Chef, so I'll have to see whether the wife wants to skip it this year or enjoy that craziness on her own.

Hey, it's good to see the schedule posted. Lots of great choices. Naturally, we prefer us. ;)

There are more details on QuietJourney in the Rendezvous Forum. We have Friday evening and Saturday evening social and dinner gatherings which are for everyone, including PaddlePlanner folks. We are doing Pizza on Friday, and BBQ on Saturday. We need for you to signup for Saturday. These gatherings are a great source of information and many friendships. Hope to see you there.

Yep, looks like their site is still saying that presenters for the upcoming Canoecopia will be posted by early February. I fished in -22F this past weekend, itching to get back in the boat!
