Little Indian Sioux Traipse

By PappyCase

Dates:September 4-8, 2019
Entry Point:14 - Little Indian Sioux River North (BWCA)
Type:Canoeing
Lakes:Lower Pauness, Upper Pauness

We had an amazing four night traverse up the Little Indian Sioux River. We had a campsite with an eagle nest next door and enjoyed watching parent eagles try to train their youngster. Lots of trumpeter swans that we enjoyed especially their call. Had a great campsite on both Pauness lakes, little bit of rain but virtually no bugs. Leaves were just starting to change. We took some time to paddle to Devil's Cascade and did some hiking in that area. Some of the rocks on Entry Point 14 were slick so you have to be careful getting down to the river. This was our first trip and we will be back!
