My biggest problem was trying to figure out the flow on the Namekagon. From what I found, the St. Croix is a pretty steady 1 MPH, but finding info on the Namekagon was harder.

This outfitter estimates flow at normal levels at 2-3 mph.

We started at West Howell Landing and finished at campsite 5.1 on Saturday. So we traveled 11.8 river miles in about 4 hours and 20 minutes, including a 20-30 minute break (young scouts learning to canoe meant a lot of zigzags and frequent paddles in their laps! laugh). That translates to about 2.75-3 mph. As an adult, I was lilydipping and keeping up with our scouts just fine, so we weren't paddling hard. I think that outfitter's estimate is pretty accurate and the river as probably in the low 2 mph range and our scouts were adding another 1 mph or less.

I'll try to get those up soon. I ran into some issues with mapping the Namekagon, but maybe you can help me out.

Well, it took many years since I initially suggested the Namekagon for me to actually get there, but I went on the lower Namekagon last weekend with my son's scout troop. That's a gem of a river! Some of the campsites were forgettable and some were fantastic. We paddled about 21 miles and only saw two buildings and a couple bridges. Otherwise, the river felt way "out there". So I am stating it again - it would be great to have the campsites so we can review them on here. :)

Uploaded a goodly number of photos from last weekend. Amazing place. Imperative to bring a high-clearance vehicle and/or proper Yooper driving skills.

At a minimum I need portage locations. Access points are almost required, but I can make a map with just portages. Campsite locations are ideal. GPX files are the best for me in terms of figuring out locations, especially campsites and portages.

Which areas are you wanting to add?
