Wondering if anyone has a list they would like to share in regards to gear and/or clothes they take.  If it matters I'm taking a early Sept trip this year, likely around 8 days out.  And while I have my own ever changing list, I'm always interested in what others take.  I'm slightly suprised that this isn't already a thread, so if I'm just missing it, please advise.

Happy Paddling.

Here is a link to my own ever-evolving list, it is a google spreadsheet.

A few notes on it:

  • I usually only get away for 4 day trips, rather than your longer 8 day trip.
  • We pack lightly with the intention to single-portage
  • We don't do group food. Everyone carries what they want to eat.

I love tripping in September. Have fun!

I agreed with this, so I actually added a "Suggested Gear List" page to the wiki. Hopefully others will add to it and edit it over time - it is nice to see what others bring.

I can't resist throwing in my two cents. The link below shows what I used two years ago for a Quetico trip. The participants were coming from California, Boston and Europe and were bringing various bits and pieces of community gear as well as their own personal stuff.

It worked pretty well but things nearly went south when one pack failed to arrive with the luggage in Thunder Bay. If you're traveling by air stateside, take a look at shipping the stuff to the outfitter via UPS, Fedex, etc.
