The landing is small and somewhat tight.
The campsite is shaded by large white pines and jack pines, which gives it a pleasant feel. The best tent pad is located beneath a large white pine and provides excellent shade.
I found two very large tent pads. With small tents, you might be able to squeeze in an additional tent, but it is most likely just two maximum pads. There is no seating around the fire grate.

Great little site. I was there on the hottest day I've ever experienced in the BWCA. There is a massive pine tree with plenty of room to stand under or to set up your tent. It's great cover when the sun is brutal. The fire grate has a small sitting area. The tent sites were at least 12x12. If you HAVE to stay here, it's not a bad pick. I personally prefer the more tucked away up into the woods campsites. I had bevers paddling by all evening and saw an elk further up Malberg early the next morning. Paddle out to get water. Overall, I give is 3.5 stars.

definitely not the best site I've stayed at. it's on the marshy end of Malberg and doesn't have striking views. It's pretty small, too! all that said, I still had a lovely evening relaxing here at the end of a long day after someone else told me all the sites they saw on malberg were full.

Well it's not a nice site. It's small, tucked in the brush, and near a portage. There's not a lot of redeeming qualities, but at least it's a bwca campsite right?

Looks rough. Every site on Malberg appeared to be taken except for this site both times that we traveled through this lake.

Small, grassy site. We did not stay, just looked it over.
