5/31/2025 - I visited this site 14 years prior to this. After 14 years' experience looking at campsites, this one was not as bad as I originally thought. I originally rated it as a one-star, but with another look at it, I upgraded it to two stars. However, there are still better options on the lake.
The landing here is gravel and fairly easy to use. The campsite itself is small, and the fire grate is exposed with very little tree cover. There are bushes around the site but no trees providing meaningful shade.
I found one or two compact tent pads, both gravelly and tight. Tent staking may be difficult. There is also a small opening down the latrine trail that looks like it has been used for a small tent in the past.
While this site is not great, it would get the job done. It is not my first choice on Malberg Lake, which has better options elsewhere.
5/26/2011 - The site is very small and confined. There is only one tent pad. The site is all grass.

A constricted gravel landing leads up to a grassy site that appears will provide strawberries in season.
Everything about the site is small and thus will likely only comfortably work for a solo or couple. The nearby surrounding landscape/islands etc. is quite scenic.
