BWCA Campsite 1087 on Fairy

This is a wonderful site suitable for a large group. We had the lake to ourselves for 3 nights, which was fantastic. We also happened to be here for the flash flooding that allowed canoes to paddle down Sheridan St. in Ely. We fared well up the hill with minimal puddling on the tent pads, although the pads down the hill collected a fair amount of water (but it was a lot of rain). As others said, the best pads are up the hill, but they are fairly close to the latrine, so that may or may not be an issue for larger groups. The kitchen area is great -- found a great tree for a bear bag past the canoe landing. I feel like we lucked out snagging this site -- on our way out, we passed two groups looking to camp at that site.

Campsite is on a peninsula with a rising hill. Kitchen on the lowest level with trails leading all over the peninsula and hill. Nice landing on flat rocks on the south side of the peninsula. Nice view from the kitchen, but also can get a better view on top of the hill. There are a few tent pads on the low level by the kitchen and others up the hill. Unfortunately, the best tent pad is in full view of the latrine.

Great site, caught a lot of sunnies/smallmouth bass from the shore for the kids. We were the only ones on the lake. We had nightly swim by's from the beaver.

Nice site with areas to explore. Good level tent pads and plenty of firewood.

Great site. The best tent pad is at the top of a decent size hill. Great views from the fire pit. The landing isn't top notch but very doable.

Great site. many areas to hang about. We were wind bound, so It was a little rough with a strong south wind. a little cramped in the fire zone.
