I stayed here in 2010 and visited again in 2021. It would be between 3 and 4 stars. Kitchen sits above the water on a rock. Nice view. Good jumping and fishing rock in front of the site. The landing in 2021 was weedy and shallow, but it was historically low water. Based on the water line, that area normally would not exist. I don't know what the landing would be like in higher water. In 2010 there was a magnificent pine tree, but it has fallen down and is now blocking the path to the tent pads. The best tent pads are down a trail. If I remember correctly, there was good walleye fishing in front of the site.

We loved this site. Out first visit in the bwca. Raised up with a great view of the lake, and has big rocks you can fish off of (though we never caught anything). Being higher up = nice gentle breeze from the river and amicable time with bugs. Landing was not bad, though it is pretty steep to get up to the actual campsite. Latrine is back behind the campsite via a decent little trail, tucked away and feels private. Everything we could have asked for!

Perfect spot for a hammock right at the waters edge. Good fire pit area. Enjoyed the ability to walk up up the shoreline easily.

huge site. ~15ft elevation above the water at the firepit and another ~15 in elevation gain up to the tent pads. one good bear bag tree and many bad choices. firepit seating was rotten but the best seats are on the rock edge right above the water. trails from the site north and east will get you shore fishing close to the rapids. you'll see a lot of traffic.

Landing can require a little work. Elevated sight with a great view back down river. Several excellent tent pads, & trails for exploration to boot. Lots of traffic likely.
