Pretty hot under the sun. Not as nice as others nearby. Where this site stands alone is in the snakes--saw a bunch this time and remember visiting this site 3 years ago and finding even more. Fun to see some good beaver activity in the area at dusk.

Very open site with a good view but little shade. The landing is fairly good. It is a narrow, sandy area that is two canoes wide - there are a couple of rocks to maneuver around. Short stairway up to the main part of the site. The main site is very open and exposed. No shade in the main area - we were there when it was 85 degrees, so the lack of shade became apparent very soon. We also could not find a spot to set up a tarp. There is a tenting area off the main area that has one good tent pad and one marginal one (we set up two tents here without too many issues). There is another good tent pad near the landing, though we used this area to store canoes. There is another trail that goes a short way down the shore leading to a sloping rock area with a little shade, nice view, and the best hanging tree. The landing area doubled as a great swimming area. It was sandy and dropped off quickly.

Protected tent area for 2 4 person tents. Nice view in grill area. Easy entry.
