We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this site was, based on past reviews. It was the only site left on the lake when we arrived late in the day. It's not as big as the site to the north, but the kitchen has a better view, and the swimming is almost as good. I don't know if they have moved the latrine since 2010, but it's not easily visible from the kitchen. However, there is a nice view from the latrine. The landing is very easy, but it does require hauling all the gear up a rather steep hill. There is a nice rock face for laying out gear to dry. The kitchen had plenty of space to place food and dishes. The kitchen has little shelter, but we had overcast conditions in the morning, so it worked out just fine. I could see how it could be really hot in the morning, here. We were shocked at how much firewood was easily available until we realized that none of the sites were used for a month in the middle of the summer (closure of 2026). There is a great tree for hanging a food bag, but it's right over one of the tent pads. We had about an inch of rain overnight, and the tent pad we used (not pictured, unfortunately) had excellent drainage, and we just ended up with some splashed up grit on the side of the tent. There were not good spots for hammocks: too many jack pines. It might be tight for a larger group, but it's a nice site for 2–5 people.

Great northern views of the lake, good landing with an area to store canoes. Tents need to be very close together.

Nice views, rocky area that sits above the water allows for nice seating. Good landing and area to stow canoes. Not very good branches for bear bag, many trees down around the campsite.

Caught nice walleye in the mouth of the inlet into the rock formation. Rained on us that day/night. Decent cover up on campsite. Nice overlook of the lake.

Buggy, even in September, pockets of space, kitchen and tent pads close together, somewhat sloped

The landing was nice. There was a small grassy area by the kitchen. The only issue I had with the site was that the latrine was visible from the kitchen.
