This is a really nice campsite among cedars and white pines. The campsite itself is fairly open, with a big white pine right in camp and a couple of cedars around it. The trees should provide enough shade during the day, while the openness should still allow a breeze to move through. The landing on the east side did not look like much from a distance, but it is actually a sandy, gravelly landing. When I visited, it was underwater rather than a beach, and there was a two- or three-foot root ledge to climb up from the shoreline, but the landing itself should not be too difficult. I found three good tent pads and four maximum tent pads. Behind the site there are a couple more large white pines that should provide additional shade, with brush and spruce farther back. Overall, this is a very nice site with a good balance of shade, openness, breeze, and tenting.

The site itself was great, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. However be aware, that this year, there is a yellow jacket nest in the cedar tree on the left side of camp when facing the camp from the water. This is the most natural landing for your canoe. There is also a large paper wasp nest above the fire grate. Both nests were easy enough to avoid and didn't pose a problem we just had to be mindful of them. That said, I could also see someone getting stung by not being aware of these nests, especially the yellow jacket nest.

Awesome site with a great sunset (July). Good fishing in the lake - right from shore. Kitchen was good - some of the logs are getting a bit older.

Expect mud in a wet year. Poor landing. Site has level tent pads but they're relatively close to the fire pit. Would not recommend.
