Nice wide open campsite. Landing wasn't perfect but the overall site was really nice. Spent 17 days here for a relaxing base camp. Decent fishing from shore for walters/pike.
Unfortunately, and surprisingly to me, I was awakened on the second night and noticed my wife was not in the tent. I assumed nature had called, but after 15-20 minutes I left the tent(REI Arctic Edition) and heard some odd sounds coming from my nephews tent(Walrus Expedition 2 man). I approached the tent and the sounds stopped, but I had heard everything I needed to hear. I returned to my tent and shortly after, My wife.
We never discussed it, as we had 15 more nights to camp.
We had rain the next THREE nights! But, we just hung around camp and made the most of it.
I guess I’d probably not do such a long trip next time, but I can’t hold that against the camp or area- it’s beautiful.
Rocky landing/some mud.

This is a deceptive site from the water. It looks small and crappy as you approach it, but we were surprised to discover that it's larger than it appears. Every other site in this part of Ensign was already taken, so this was literally our 6th choice. The landing is rocky, like most other sites, but it was easy enough to find room to land and tie off 4 canoes. The fire pit is elevated so you get a nice view looking west across Ensign. We had no problem putting up 4 full size tents and 1 single-person tent (9 person crew), but could have easily accommodated 6 full size tents on flat pads. We did squeeze 3 tents into a single pad area (next to the toilet trail) but they all fit just fine. If you really needed to, you could probably stick another small tent or two in a less-than-ideal location. No real good spots for bear bags, but there are a few trees with low branches down the trail to the left of the fire pit. We went in July and there were june berries (aka Saskatoons) and blueberries around camp. Caught two decent walleye from our bank in the little cove in the early morning using a paddletail swimbait and a jig with a twister tail. I'm surprised this site wasn't rated before. I thought it was pretty nice.
