BWCA Campsite 1226 on Ensign

Overall great spot, fit 3 tents and 3 hammocks no problem (8 people total). As of 2025 there's enough rock sitting around the fire for ~4/5 people, no more big log so larger groups could use camp chairs. - As of May 2025, Eagles flying nearby camp throughout the day, nest must be nearby. There's a few decent tent spots off to the a small trail on the left which has a bit more shelter. The flattest spots are in between the pit and the lookout rock, but have less shelter. Great fishing just south of the site where the channel enters the larger lake.

This site has an amazing kitchen area. It is set back a little farther in the woods. It has good shade, but if you want more sun just move to the rocks near shore.
