This campsite is tucked far down a long bay with no other campsites nearby, so even on busy Ensign Lake, it should offer quite a bit of solitude. Most traffic will stay out on the main part of the lake, and the only real reason to come down this bay would be to stay here, aside from maybe the occasional fisherman.
The standout feature is the view. The campsite sits high up on a big rock dome and has a commanding view down the arm of the lake. I really liked that part of the site.
The landing was okay, but there was no good pull-up spot, so I had to tie up the canoe. It is also a climb from the landing up to the campsite. Because the site is high and faces west, it could get windy, so this is probably not the place to stay if you are trying to get out of the wind.
There are two good tent pads and three maximum tent pads. One of the better pads is under some trees, though it may lose shade later in the day, and the other has a few rocks in it. Since the whole campsite is basically on rock, staking could be questionable. Without the view, this would probably feel more like a lower-rated site to me, but the view down the bay makes it memorable.

Had thought about camping here, but visited instead. Was glad we had went elsewhere. Rough climb from water, poor tent pads with nowhere to drive a stake, and nothing for rigging a tarp. But have to give credit to the view. And if solitude is your thing, this might be the place.
