Landing and canoe storage can be anywhere on gravel and rock shore, but water may be too shallow to prevent wet-footing. The clearing is a rectangular flat area close to the water with the kitchen being just 4 feet away. It is in full sun and very wind exposed, with best feature being good 3 log seating. There are 3 tent sites (2 good) along the trail that goes toward portage, and 2 others at edge of clearing. Another trail likely goes to site 1239. The latrine is up a steep hill. Best use for this somewhat unattractive site is easy access to the portages to Carp or Knife Lakes.

Narrow grassy strip of ground along the water. Nothing to block the view of the lake since the site is right at water level. For some reason one of the tents pads was all dug up - not sure what happened there. The flattest tent pad made me nervous because some trees were leaning precariously over it - not widowmakers, but I didn't like how they were leaning. It was very buggy when I visited.

Last camp before making the six portages into knife lake so good if you want to stay overnight before the launch or, as I did, use it for a few days and do easy day trips over the portages with minimal equipment. Can also go deep into carp lake in Canada as a day trip (nice lake!). The camp's appeal is limited. It is a narrow strip of low, somewhat wet land stretched out along the shore facing the Canadian side opposite. Tent site is tucked back in the bush away from the fire grate. Landing for canoe is good.
