This site is a little situation-dependent, and I could see people rating it differently depending on the weather and what they want from a campsite. The landing is pretty nice, with a small sand landing where you can pull in and get the canoe up. From there, a short path leads to the campsite proper. The campsite is set back in the woods, so there is not much of a lake view, which brings it down a bit for me because I tend to like views. That said, the layout, setting, and general feel are nice. It sits in a pine grove with pine duff on the ground, and there are some red and white pines around.
There are two good tent pads and four maximum tent pads. The two better tent areas are screened from the kitchen by brush or trees, and there are a couple of slanted backup spots if you really need them.
This could be a great place on a cold, windy day when you want protection, but in hot, buggy weather it might feel too sheltered and buggy because there is not much breeze.

Most sites were full on west side of lake. This was one of the few open sites. It quickly became apparent why. Really woody site with no view of the lake. Bugs were terrible. I would only stay here if its late in the day and everything else is full.
We passed on this site and went on to site 1268, which is also poor.
