This site felt below average for this part of Ensign, though there is not one huge thing wrong with it. The landing is a little narrow, with rocks and brush on the sides, but it was actually easier than some of the other landings I used on the lake, and I did not have trouble getting out of the canoe. The view from the fire grate is fairly narrow. Brush blocks the view on both sides, so you mainly look across toward the south shore rather than getting a wider east-west view. The trees around the site are mostly spruce and balsam, with a few jack pines and cedars mixed in.
The tent pads are in a large open gravelly area, and they are flat, though I am not sure how well stakes would work. One possible tent spot has a bunch of flat rocks laid out on it, almost like a cobblestone sidewalk, so that may make it hard to use unless the rocks are moved.
There is another smaller tent pad tucked into an opening among the spruce, but it would only fit a smaller tent. Overall, I would call it two good tent pads and three maximum tent pads. It is usable, but it does not stand out compared with other sites nearby.

Very narrow opening to the water, so not a great view from the site. Also a bit awkward taking the canoe on and off of shore. We had beavers swimming around and harvesting small trees right off the site though so that was cool to watch.
