BWCA Campsite 1276 on Ensign

This was the dirtiest site I have seen in the BWCA. A massive fish graveyard E of camp with fish carcasses and bait dumped everywhere which made camp smell pretty bad. Very sad to see.

Had a hell of a day getting here, with a storm hitting about the same time we got to the middle of Ensign from Vera, and scattering our group to 2 separate, already occupied sites (very accommodating people at both sites!). All good campsites were taken before we regrouped and got to this one. Campsite was trashed by the previous group, so we had to do some cleaning up. Aside from that, very nice site. Good food pack hanging area in area behind camp. Couldn't manage to get the tarp over fire pit area, but there was space/trees elsewhere in camp. Plenty of space for our group of 7 people / 6 tents. Great largemouth fishing in the three bays to the north. Great fishing in general paddling near camp.
