This is the nicer of the two campsites on the way toward the Splash Lake portage. It is a very open site, especially around the kitchen and landing, with a large open area on a peninsula. There is a better landing around the south side of the peninsula, and that side also has a nice view into a little bay with cattails where I could imagine seeing wildlife like blackbirds, ducks, or maybe even moose. The site faces west and does not have much of a wind break, but in hot or buggy weather that breeze could be a real advantage.
There is one giant, flat tent pad that might even fit two tents, another flat sandy tent pad in the open kitchen area, and a smaller tent pad back in the woods. The area behind camp also looks very good for hammocks, with trees spaced well for hanging. This is a spacious, scenic site with a nice open feel and good tenting options.

Nice large site with tent pads in and out of the woods. Great views down moose and a short paddle to the splash portage.

ok site if you've got a late start out of Moose Lake.
