This is one of those campsites that shows you can still find solitude even on a busy route. Splash Lake gets a lot of traffic because people travel through it on the way to Ensign, but this site is tucked up on the north end of the lake where there is no reason to go unless you are staying here.
The landing is pretty good, though it is a little rocky and I was somewhat cautious of the sharp, jagged rocks. The kitchen has a big white pine over it and felt like a great place to hang out. There is a nice view toward the west, with rock shelves and good sitting logs around the fire grate.
There is really only one good tent pad, but it is large enough for a decent-sized tent. You could find a few other spots if needed, but they would be secondary options. With the cedars and the big pine around camp, this site has a really nice feel, and it is one I would stay at if it were open.

Good overview of the lake with good size rock to sit on. Main tent pad can take a 8person tent and a lot of good hammock trees.

Pretty good campsite for a larger group. We visited this as our last site on the trip before exiting at Moose Lake. Seems like an underutilized site. Landing is fine and big enough to fit ~3 canoes. Main portion of the site is elevated ~10 up off the lake. Tent pads are kind of scattered throughout the site, and it sits surrounded by water on two sides and significant incline on the other two. We didn't get rain while we were here, but I would imagine that water is probably channeled right through a portion of the site. The west-northwest views make it an incredible place to watch the sun set, especially if you hike up to the overlook. Fire grate area is pretty open but could probably be covered effectively with a rain fly. Lots of great trees for hammocking. The latrine is a bit of a hike up the hill. This site really feels isolated from the rest of the lake. Not a destination campsite, but is definitely a great spot to aim for on your last night if Ensign isn't tickling your fancy...

Elevated campsite with a rocky landing, numerous hammock locations and a great view of the sunsets. Other than the passing canoe, it feels as though you have the whole lake to yourself.

This site is very nice with a western view of the sunset over the lake. Only camp on this lake so you have some solitude and it is an easy out to the final leg of your journey if taking out on moose. We stopped at many available campsites on ensign as we came thru there and passed them up cuz they looked so heavily used - trash laying around, sitting logs around fire grate missing (burned?), lots of living trees chopped down for firewood... This spot was underused and quiet in comparison. Good tent site with more scattered throughout the area back into the woods. We recommend it.
