BWCA Campsite 1308 on Moose

I found this to be a very small site with a steep, sloped rock landing. The rock was wet and slick from the waves, and I had some trouble getting out of the canoe without falling in. If the rock were dry, it might be easier, but in wet conditions the landing is something to be careful with. The fire grate is sheltered behind a big rock ledge, and there is a nice view from the ledge area, but the site is directly across from the narrows between Moose and Newfound, so there would be a lot of motorboat traffic going by throughout the day. The water was high when I visited, and parts of the campsite were flooded and muddy, including the latrine trail and some possible tent areas. If the site is dry, there is one good tent pad near the fire grate and another possible tent spot on top of the rock ledge by the lake. There are a few other possible spots farther back in the site, but they are compact and would not be especially comfortable. I would hesitate to stay here if rain were in the forecast, especially with how wet and muddy it was during my visit.
