A nice site with plenty of room to spread out. We liked the open kitchen area that had some privacy but also a nice view of the lake and "The Rock". Weather was cool so bugs were not bad at all even the first day of summer. Nice mature trees here since this is north of the Pigami fire area to the south. About a 5.5 to 6 hour trip for us from the Lake One entry point. Pictographs are a nice three hour paddle to the east. Good hammock options. Wild roses blooming on the way to the latrine, you can't beat that.
Only problems are the latrine needs to be replaced (hole in the front) - I emailed the forest service. Also the sitting log by the fire grate is about ready to split in the middle. Didn't see any other logs to replace it with that were in any better shape. There are probably better sites on Insula but this one is just fine.

Decent site. I didn't love it, but there wasn't a lot to dislike. The fishing was great!
2-3 tent pads, firepit was well situated.

Nice campsite with good landing spot, probably best as a spring or fall spot as it looks like it could be buggy at times as it can only get breeze from one angle.

Elevated, good shade, nice landing, awesome view of The Rock, access to deep water (60') and excellent Walleye and Smallmouth action.
